Mark Vasallo is of counsel to Buche & Associates, P.C. and has a broad base of experience representing individuals, small businesses, and Fortune 500 companies which allows him to provide clients with comprehensive legal counseling. Mark practiced as a litigator at a top U.S. law firm, Cozen O'Connor, with over 550 attorneys in 23 offices worldwide. He has also served as in-house counsel to the nation's 4th largest student financial services firm, with over $9 Billion in assets. Mark concentrates his practice on litigation and dispute resolution matters, as well as tax controversy, intellectual property and corporate transactional matters.
Mark's litigation practice has focused primarily on business disputes, product liability, construction defect, contract matters, torts, and negligence. Having worked on the $3.55 Billion litigation claim involving the World Trade Center disaster, as well as numerous claims in excess of $10 Million, Mark has the experience to handle litigation matters of any size. Licensed to practice before the U.S. Tax Court, Mark has also defended numerous corporate and individual clients against I.R.S. actions, successfully reducing claimed taxes and penalties.
As a corporate attorney, Mark has counseled on securitization of over $5 Billion in asset backed securities, purchase and sale of private held companies, and mergers and acquisitions. Mark has extensive experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, including purchasing, sales, leasing, licensing, marketing, employment, settlement agreements, and confidentiality agreements. He has also advised clients on trademark, insurance, and employment matters.
Graduating in the top 5% of his class with a B.S. in Zoology from Auburn University, Mark started his career in the biological sciences. Mark earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from The University of Miami School of Law. Attending on an academic scholarship, he was Executive Editor of the Inter-American Law Review and worked for the Federal Court in the chambers of The Honorable William C. Turnoff, Southern District of Florida.
