John Urquhart is a trial lawyer. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 2004, and then served four years in the United States Marine Corps as an Infantry Officer.
In the Marine Corps, John completed two combat tours in Iraq as a Platoon Commander, where he led approximately 50-55 Marines in high tempo combat operations. As a platoon commander in Iraq, John consistently made split second, life or death decisions with diligent precision.
After the Marine Corps, John decided to take the fight to the courtroom. While in law school, John worked for the legend Richard “Racehorse” Haynes where he learned and applied invaluable pre-trial and trial techniques.
The legendary Racehorse Haynes once introduced John as “my last protégé” at the civil district courthouse in downtown Houston. John also learned and continues to learn from his father, G. Wesley Urquhart, an experienced litigator with extensive trial experience.
John has a unique approach to litigation, incorporating the knowledge and experience he gained from the Marine Corps, Richard “Racehorse” Haynes and G. Wesley Urquhart. Leadership, combined with diligent preparation, constant client communication and consistent meticulous analysis are at the core of his litigation philosophy.
John has litigated a variety of cases, including criminal, personal injury, maritime, and business disputes. Buche & Associates, P.C. is proud to have John Urquhart join forces with our litigation and trial teams.
